Learn how FlyHire calculates match percentage and how to increase yours.

90%+ matches convert to interviews 3x more often.

The Match Formula

Your match score is the result of how well a job aligns with your ranked preferences. It’s displayed as a percentage:

  • 90–100%: Perfect fit
  • 75–89%: Strong match
  • 50–74%: Decent match
  • Below 50%: Weak match

What Goes Into It

Scores are weighted - FlyHire has a default algorithm set in case you have no specific preferences. Your match score is based on the following:

  • Job Type
  • Location
  • Company
  • Salary
  • Benefits
  • Fleet (if pilot)

Your manual ranking affects how these weights are applied -your top priority will have a greater weight than others.

Improving Your Score

  • Update your resume
  • Complete your profile
  • Set accurate preferences
  • Remove jobs that don’t align

Employers See the Same Score

Match scores are mutual — both sides see how strong the fit is.

Stay active — fresh profiles rank higher in the algorithm.
